Description

Machu Picchu is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. This ancient Inca site is an incredible feat of engineering, perched high on a ridge and surrounded by impressive mountains and the Urubamba River.

This full day tour takes you by train from Cusco to Machu Picchu, exploring the Peruvian Andes, from the dry climate of the highlands to the dense vegetation of the cloud forest. The citadel is an extraordinary complex of palaces, temples, houses, plazas and storehouses, carefully connected by stone paths and twists and turns. Scholars are still trying to unravel the mysteries of the “Lost City of the Incas”. However, new theories and studies are revealing new details of this fantastic wonder.

Join us on this day trip from Cusco or the Sacred Valley and visit this ancient city abandoned in the early 16th century.

Itinerary

DAY 1:Day 1: Cusco-Ollantaytambo-Aguas Calientes-Machu Picchu

The Machu Picchu tour starts early in the morning. We will pick you up at your hotel in Cusco and take you to the train station in the town of Ollantaytambo (about a 2 hour ride) where we will board our train and take the trip to the town of Aguas Calientes (about a 2 hour ride). Upon arrival at the train station, our guide or transfer will be waiting for you to go to the bus station in Aguas Calientes to take the 30 minute bus ride to the Machu Picchu Sanctuary.

You will visit the main viewpoints with panoramic views and the corresponding postcard photos. The guided tour lasts approximately 2 hours, after which you will return to the city of Aguas Calientes to enjoy your lunch.

In the afternoon, according to the schedule of your train, we will return to Ollantaytambo (you must be at the station 30 minutes before the departure time of your train) and upon your arrival in Ollantaytambo, you will board the private transport that will take you back to Cusco (approximately 2 hours journey), our agency staff will be waiting to take you to your respective hotel.
